Renewing your domain name(s)

Alongside your web hosting subscription, you will usually have one or more domain names registered through your account. When you renew your hosting subscription, you will be sent a special code that allows you to renew (or register, or transfer) one domain name for free.

As your domain name is nearing its expiration date, you will receive emails like the one below …

Renewing your domain name(s) is easy, just log on to your control panel at https://cp.webhosting.ie

If there are domain names within 30 days of expiry, you will see a red alert flag under ‘Domains -> Expiring Soon’.

Click the Expire Soon icon to see these domains (or My Domains to see all your domains) …

Click on the domain you wish to renew…

Then click the ‘Renew’ button …

You will now see a list of available periods (usually 1-9 years) for which your domain can be renewed, along with the yearly cost for each.  Select the period you wish to renew for. You will probably have a free domain code from renewing your hosting – this can be entered alongside the selected period and it will give you one year for free.

Click Next, the total amount (if anything) to be paid will be shown. If this is not a free domain, or if you are renewing for more than a year, you can select an existing credit card, or add a new one. Click ‘Place Order’ when done.

Click ‘Next’

Your order will appear in the list of processing orders until it completes.

When your order has been processed, you will be sent a (PAID) VAT Invoice if payment was required.
